New scientific research performed by scientists at the Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory is showing that information like bird song is genetically encoded in species.

A Zebra Finch was completely isolated which prevented it from learning songs from its parents. Through trial and error, each baby bird made improvements to re-discover the original song in 4 to 5 generations.
